April
First off, don't forget to buy a ticket (or 2) for this shindig I'm doing at the Depot on the 30th. It'll be a good time. And I'll definitely be out of my element, so any familiar faces that show up will be much appreciated!
April is probably my favorite month of the year. For one, it's my birthday month. It's also the month where our snowpack usually reaches it's fattest depth. The weather goes from warm and sunny one day to dumping the next. This is the month where it's time to go big.
The weather was all over the place this week. Snow, rain, fog, sun, warm temperatures... The old saying for spring held true, if you don't like the weather just wait five minutes. The highlight of the week was making the long trek out to Thunder Ridge and finally riding Coalpit. For those still looking to ride her all the way to the road, the waterfall is a waterfall once again. With the continued warm temperatures, it probably is no longer worth it to deal with the exit anymore this season. What a line, though! It was a treat to ride her all the way out. Definitely one of the highlights of my season so far. Looking ahead, it looks like winter might return in a few days. Hopefully the nice weather we've had in the valley has made a lot of people give up on skiing and snowboarding. Not the case for me. April is time for riding big stuff. And we're hopefully just getting started.
