Pic of the Day: April 13

Time to switch back to your work sweatpants. So far this project has been a lot of fun for me. I hope you're enjoying this journey through my photo archives too!

Golden Hour

No season is complete without at least one sunset Baldy lap in the summer. The long days allow for super late starts, usually 6 or 7 pm depending on how fast we want to go/how many beers we want to have up top. Sunset isn't till after 9pm so there's usually plenty of time to hang out and enjoy the views.

On this particular day, me and Mike decided to try to ride Little Chute right when the alpenglow was peaking. We probably started a tad earlier so we'd still have some beer drinking time up top. When the light was starting to get pretty, I got into place in the upper skier's right of the chute and got the camera ready.

Had we waited one more minute, the shadows would've crept too far into the chute, blowing the shot. I remember shouting "GO NOW, GO NOW!!" up to Mike. Luckily he was ready. We ripped down Alta back to the car in perfect summer corn under the fading evening light. What a day!
