Pic of the Day: April 15
I hope you're having a good start to your Wednesday (whatever time that might be!) The one good thing for me about doing these posts is it's become much easier to keep track of the days of the week. It still feel like that movie "Groundhog Day." I hope somewhere, some radio station is playing "I Got You Babe" over the airwaves every morning.
Asahidake
Japan is one of the raddest places to go snowboarding. I've been fortunate to go twice. We had strange weather by Japanuary standards on this trip. We mostly had sunshine during our time on Hokkaido. Usually it snows pretty much nonstop.
The dry weather did allow us to get in some cool locations with good visbility. And we still found pow to ride. I took this shot of Mike at Asahidake, where the snow below treeline was phenomenal. I think this was the best turn anyone did on that trip. We found this super mellow gully perfectly lit and completely untouched.
Mike dropped in, carried a ton of speed, and just laid it out perfect. Super fun to watch. Pretty sure after this we had a couple Strongs (If you know, you know!) I hope we'll be able to get back over there sometime.
