Pic of the Day: April 17

Well, if the 'Rona doesn't off us, all the earthquakes we're having in Salt Lake might... Here's an idea: Instead of ringing in 2021 on New Year's Eve, let's just call a mulligan and redo 2020. Here's hoping for brighter days in the coming weeks, months, and years.

Social Distancing

The thing is, we can still go splitboarding. As long as we're allowed to, we will try to continue to get out in a safe and responsible way. Sure, we can't carpool anymore, or hi-five, or apres in the parking lot. But we can still get out.

I almost hate saying this, but yesterday was one of the best days of the season for me. The storm we had overproduced. We got two really fun laps of untracked, blower pow. All the other bullshit didn't matter for those few glorious hours in the morning. It was a good mental reset for sure.

Here, we have Tony blasting out of a tree hallway at Alta. Normally Alta is still open at this time, so runs like this aren't possible for snowboarders. And even if you ski Alta, it wouldn't be as good as it was yesterday if they were still open. Sure, it sucks that we can't get lift served turns anymore in what has been a 500 plus inch winter. But being able to ride zones like this in prime conditions are very special moments. I'll gladly take that silver lining in this dark time.
