Pic of the Day: April 22

Home improving is so hot right now. I guess we're all just doing those projects we swore we'd do if we'd ever have time. I've been re-landscaping my front yard this week. I think it'll look pretty good when it's done. At the very least, my tan will be pretty good for this time of year...

Everybody Loves (Mount) Raymond

This was Tony's first big day out in the backcountry after breaking his back a few years ago. The east face of Mt. Raymond is such an aesthetic face to look at from afar. I mind surf it every time I drive down Big Cottonwood. It's a bit of a mission getting to the top, for sure.

I remember doing some ridiculous side hilling with splitboard crampons on the approach. I also remember some super sketch ridge walking getting to the summit. The views from the top are all time in all directions.

Here we have Tony and Tanner looking down the east face from the summit with the central Wasatch in the background. We scored the east face proper in perfect corn this day. It's always a treat strapping in on the tippy top of a mountain and riding straight down from there.

Oh, and Tony's back has been doing great. Our streak of consecutive months snowboarding is now at 54. It's survived his broken back, a few bad snow years, and now a global pandemic (so far). If we get to 60 in October I reckon we'll have a proper celebration. Hopefully for both the streak turning 5 years old and surviving COVID-19.
