Pic(s) of the Day: May 13
Well, what we've all known for a while finally became official this morning: Lift served turns will not be coming back to Utah this season. It makes sense, really. If snowbird re-opened it would've been a total clusterfuck. And it would've been ground zero for the 2nd wave of COVID-19 in Utah. It sucks that we'll miss out on the spring shenanigans. But there will be more springs ahead.
On a positive note, there's still some fun to be had in the mountains. It's still important to use discretion with who, how, and where you recreate. But if you're doing so in a responsible manner, I think it's good for your mental health to get out.
Yesterday me, Mike, Jenny, and Croshane got out for a beach day in the backcountry. I'm stoked we can still do some pond skimming this spring. To be honest, it's a lot better than Anderson's at the bird. The run in is smooth and fast. The water is electric blue instead of dirty brown...
I couldn't decide on just one photo for today's pic of the day. Instead, here's a bunch from the pond skim session yesterday. It was the happiest I've been in quite some time...
