Season in Review: 2020
Forever the strangest...
What if I told you some of the best days of Winter 2020 were in October and June? What if I told you LCC would be closed for almost 3 straight days due to a massive avalanche cycle? What if I told you every resort in the Cottonwood Canyons would close in March during a 500" winter?
What if I told you none of it really mattered?
Because none of it really mattered... A global pandemic and systemic racism have been running rampant, with no credible response or plan from the "leaders" of our country to put an end to either. Times are dark. There really isn't anything to be positive about.
It was a good winter though. We had above average snowfall. We had blower pow in October and June. We got to ride lines we hadn't rode before. We got to revisit some of our favorites too. We drank beers after big days (and small days). We watched the sun rise and set from ridgelines. We got lost. We got stuck in 8 hour red snakes. We got some really rad photos.
I've been meaning to do this season's review for a while now. It's been really hard to stay positive as of late. That's part of the reason I haven't done anything on here in over a month. I'm in need of some positivity though. And I bet a lot of the people reading this are too.
So here it is. The photos that made the season. Enjoy this yearly scroll down memory lane.... Then go wash your hands, put your mask on, register to vote, learn what steps you can take to end systemic racism in the United States, tell your friends and family you love them, take a deep breath, and continue to just do your best to get through this dumpster fire of a year. One day at a time.
