Sending it into Summer...(And back to Winter)

Tanner Crow enjoying the view
The 2017 season is over for me. The final push to the end was a big one. We did some pond skimming at snowbird on Sunday, rode Deseret Peak on Monday, and went to the Uintas for the last Tourin' Tuesday yesterday. It was nice being able to get two more big days this late in the season. Today and tomorrow I will be traveling to Australia to visit my sister and then to the Solomon Islands with my dad to go Scuba diving. This will be the first non snowboarding trip that I have ever taken. I'm looking forward to the change of pace this trip will provide. Deseret Peak was a lot of fun on Monday. Tony, Tanner, and I rode the east facing chute to the north of the peak that we all had been looking at last season. There is still a good amount of snow in the upper basin in the Stansbury Range. The Twin Couloirs will most likely still be rideable on July 4th this year. I might have to go back out there if they are.

Mirror Lake Highway is open through the Uintas. Tanner and I were able to skin right from the car up near Bald Mountain Pass. That was a treat considering it was June 6th. The snow up there is melting quick though. If anyone is thinking of getting out there don't wait too long.
Tourin' Tuesday in the Uintas
It is time for me to shift gears to summer mode. Technically I am going to be in winter for the next three weeks, but it will be like winter in Florida where it might be chilly one night here and there, but overall it is still basically summer weather. I'm looking forward to hanging out by the ocean. I will still be updating my blog while I am gone so keep checking back for new content. Time to take a break from snowboarding for a little bit.
Party line!!!
