Steep (and still pretty deep)

The storm track remained north of the Wasatch for most of the week, leaving us with strong winds and scattered periods of light snow. Riding conditions remained better than expected. While the low elevation snowpack has taken a hit from the warm temps and rain, upper elevation terrain continues to offer pow. The week started with bagging a low elevation line in Big Cottonwood before the warming trend turned the snow to mashed potatoes. Actually, the snow was incredible that day. We generally spent the rest of the week riding fun and mellow pow runs up high. There was that 3,000 vertical foot north facing line on Thursday, though (I'll let you fill in the blanks on that one)... Meteorological Spring has begun. But winter is far from over. After all, spring is just a battle between summer and winter for control. All signs point to winter winning the battle this coming week.
