The Longest Days
The Summer Solstice might be just a few days away, but there's still plenty of snow to ride. If everything goes well, lift served turns will still be possible on 5 more days this season. Meanwhile, top to bottom touring is still possible up at Alta.
On Friday we finally did our first sunset Baldy lap of the season. It was a spectacular evening with the moon rising as we topped out. The sunset was one of the best I've seen from Baldy. Main Chute corned back up for the ride down just after sunset. It was also Jenny's first Main Chute lap ever. I don't think you could ask for better conditions for that occasion (well maybe pow, I guess).
Anderson's Pond is full size at Snowbird. The run in is super bumpy too. It's a little scary having to point it through the moguls. Surviving the run in was far more difficult than making it across the pond.
These are the longest days of the year. Starting Saturday we begin the slow march toward next season. In the meantime, there's still a lot of fun to have this season. We'll probably tour to celebrate the solstice, 4th of July turns are gonna happen in a few weeks, and there's still some lift served shenanigans to be had.
P.S. Go Blues!!!
